Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Project Development and Finance Practice with the addition of Simon Caridia as a new partner in London.
"White & Case has a strong track record and an excellent reputation as an advisor to the infrastructure sector, and our ambition is to continue building a leading EMEA practice focused on the industry that spans both project development and finance and M&A," said White & Case partner Art Scavone, who leads the Firm's Global Project Development and Finance Practice. "The infrastructure M&A and private equity market in Europe and globally is highly active, with very strong demand from financial investors for infrastructure assets, and Simon's arrival adds further strength to the team in London advising financial sponsors and lenders on infrastructure financing and M&A."
Caridia focuses his practice on debt financings for infrastructure mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions. He advises industry sponsors, infrastructure and private equity funds, commercial bank lenders, multilateral agencies, institutional investors and host governments on brownfield transactions and greenfield projects, including acquisitions, refinancings, restructurings, project finance and public-private partnerships. He joins White & Case from Herbert Smith Freehills, where he was a partner, and brings more than 15 years of experience.
"There are very few lawyers in the London market who can match Simon's reputation, experience and market knowledge in relation to advising clients on debt financing for infrastructure M&A and private equity deals," said White & Case partner Mark Castillo-Bernaus, Regional Section Head, EMEA Energy, Infrastructure, Project & Asset Finance. "His arrival sends a clear signal that we are determined to continue expanding our role advising infrastructure clients across EMEA."
Partner Oliver Brettle, London-based member of White & Case's global Executive Committee, said: "Simon's arrival represents continued progress in our strategic focus on profitable growth in London and in the global private equity industry. White & Case is also a recognized world leader for project development and finance, and Simon adds further strength to our practice."
