Global law firm White & Case LLP has launched a Luxembourg country practice.
"The launch of our Luxembourg practice aligns with our EMEA strategy to build on the Firm's global strengths, and is an important strategic development of our capabilities to provide clients with comprehensive one-stop legal support on their most complex, cross-border matters," said Brussels-based partner Thierry Bosly, who leads the new practice.
"The importance to our clients of Luxembourg as a financial centre is increasing as a result of Brexit, and our new country practice will support the needs of clients investing in Luxembourg and the international expansion ambitions of clients who are based there," said Oliver Brettle, a member of the White & Case Executive Committee.
Local partners Vincent Naveaux and Christophe Balthazard, and associate Alix van der Wielen, have recently joined White & Case in Brussels from Allen & Overy, and will work with Bosly to develop the Luxembourg practice. The new team has more than 35 years of combined experience advising on deals and disputes involving Luxembourg, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, reorganizations and restructurings, risk advisory and corporate litigation and pre-litigation matters.
Naveaux is a corporate and disputes lawyer who focuses on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, with particular experience in corporate dispute resolution. Balthazard has extensive experience in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures, with a particular focus on the private equity, (re)insurance and financial institutions sectors.
